Senior Rotating Engineer

Job Purpose:

Provide a safe and effective rotating maintenance service to the Operations group through supporting safe execution of planned / unplanned maintenance activities, turnarounds / shutdowns and assigned maintenance improvement projects on time and within budget improvement projects on time and within budget. 

 

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor in Engineering / Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Master Degree is an advantage.

 

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 6 to 8 years hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and overhauling of large turbo machineries (centrifugal compressors, steam turbines etc), multi-stage high pressure pumps, large reciprocating compressors, various shaft sealing devices, hands on experience in various condition monitoring techniques in petrochemical / oil and gas industries.
  • Experience in managing turnarounds / shutdown works on rotating equipment.
  • Must have extensive maintenance and reliability experience in rotating equipment, ranging from turbo-machinery, pumps, compressors, seal arrangements, fin fans etc.
  • Working knowledge of pump / compressor performance curves and pump sizing and pump data sheets.
  • Working knowdledge of P&ID's (Piping and Instrumentation diagrams), piping isometrics and engineering drawings.
  • Basic knowledge in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping components.
  • Experience in handling maintenance works using computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) preferably in SAP.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Strategy Formulation and Implementation.
  • OPEX and CAPEX.
  • Ensure plant availability is maintained within approved budget through execution of approved maintenance strategies in compliance with health, safety and environment.
  • Provide guidance to the rotating equipment maintenance team to deliver safe and effective maintenance services to the Operations group.
  • Execute turnarounds in the capacity of Area Leader in the assigned plant section in safely and effectively on the turnarounds.
  • Create, implement and manage large multi-disciplinary contracts for rotating to perform effective maintenance.
  • Be an effective safety leader within the Maintenance and the Operations group by ensuring compliance to personal and process safety requirements.
  • Be accountable and responsible for the continual review and improvement of all mechanical maintenance functions and requirements to ensure best practices are being followed.
  • Assist the Technical department with the management of reliability through having the best maintenance strategies and maintenance plans available.
  • Ensure compliance of maintenance systems (SAP) and data management system.
